I'm sorry but why is tanning normalized?

Changing your skin tone is wrong

Tanning naturally is fine, that's normal but not intentionally tanning.
Bleaching is wrong and is often rightfully criticized, however tanning is not given the same treatment when it literally changes your skin tone so that you appear darker, how is that not problematic?
