Sofia the first was so huge oml the girks in my class were OBSESSED n so were me n my sister
Lolirock has such a strong fanbase, and i feel that girly shows in my EXPIRENCE tend to have stronger fansbases then shows with a less girly aesthetic. I think its cuz ppl get made fun of for watching girly shows so the fans get protective.
But like i said before the girly shows that do the best are the ones that combine it with stereotypically masc elements like fighting and adventure
During the first 3 season of winx it was popukar for boys and girls pretty much equally
For totally spies its popukar for boys n girls too
N sailor moon was NOTORIOUSLY popular among male university students
And dobt even get me started on bronies
WE NEED GIRLY SHOWS BACKKK
Even if a show doesnt have masc elements it can still be popular like bratz, barbie, monster high and ever after (disney why 😔) and etc
All these were popular n while u coukd say it was the dolls, but tbh the movies made me want the dolls and the dolls made me want to watch the films it was a symbiotic relationship
Maybe w lolirock season 3 (we dont knkw when itll be out) the barbie movie and the Totally spies and winx reboots we might have a girly show renaissance
